About the Author

Julie Tourigny, OTD, OTR was awarded her doctorate by Boston University in 2013. Previously, she graduated cum laude from Boston University with a BS in occupational therapy. In 2003, she earned her Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Denver, with a concentration in statistics.

Dr. Tourigny has dedicated her educational and professional careers to developing cutting-edge strategies and programs that promote the vital sensory, motor, and social skills young children need for success in school. Dr. Tourigny’s experience has convinced her that, with the right methods, all children have the capacity to be competent and successful students, regardless of socioeconomic, cognitive, or other challenges they may face. She developed the Letter Leaders program after more than a decade of work researching and utilizing evidence-based methods to teach handwriting to children with different learning styles.
